Tiramisu is a coffee-flavored Italian dessert. This eggless tiramisu easy to make and contains no alcohol or eggs! We love this delicious eggless tiramisu that is ready from prep time to plating under 30 minutes! You would still need to let the tiramisu set overnight in your refrigerator.
You need a good strong flavor of coffee for this recipe. We prefer dark roast! The lady fingers just quickly absorb the coffee making it taste delicious.
Layering the tiramisu with the coffee soaked lady fingers and the mascarpone & heavy whipping cream mix is fun
This is a bake free tiramisu recipe with no tempering of raw eggs and no alcohol making it kid friendly. Just mix, layer, and refrigerate. The hardest part of this recipe is waiting until the tiramisu is set so you can dive right in!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp instant coffee powder
- 1 ½ cup hot water
- 18-20 ladyfingers (200 grams)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup sugar
- 250 grams mascarpone cheese
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
PROCEDURE
- Start by preparing the coffee by adding the hot water to the instant coffee and then let it cool for about 10-15 minutes
- In a large bowl, whip together the heavy whipping cream and sugar using an electric mixer or a whisk until soft peaks form (If using an electric mixer do not over whip. If hand whisking this would take about 10-15 minutes)
- Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla essence to the cream and sugar mix and continue to whip until the mascarpone and cream are well combined
- Dip one lady finger at a time in coffee on both sides and quickly place in a baking tray. Ensure to line the first layer completely with lady fingers. (Do not over soak the lady fingers as they absorb the coffee quickly). Save half the ladyfingers for the second layer
- It’s now time to spread the cream mixture. So spread half of the cream mixture on top of the first lady finger layer and spread evenly
- Repeat the process with the second layer of ladyfingers and cream mixture
- Finally, dust the top of the tiramisu with some cocoa powder using a sieve and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight. (Cover the baking tray with foil and place in the refrigerator)
PRO TIP
- Pop your bowl in the freezer for about 5 minutes before making the whipped cream. Doing this will speed up the process to form the stiff peaks
- You can also make this tiramisu in a mason jar in case you do not have a baking tray.
- If you have a wide baking tray, you can also just utilize half the tray for plating and layering the tiramisu
