hourBreadsticks, also known as grissini, grissino or dipping sticks, are generally pencil-sized sticks of crisp, dry baked bread that originated in Italy.
Ingredients
4 cups all purpose flour
3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
8 grams active dry yeast
1 ⅓ cups water
Directions
- Mix flour, oil, sugar, salt, yeast, and water into a large bowl and stir well to combine (the mixture should be sticky)
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside to let it rest for 1 hour
- Preheat your oven to 350° F. Divide your dough into 30 equal sized balls (About 1 ounce each )
- Working with 1 ball of dough at a time , roll and stretch dough into a 8-inch rope
- Transfer the bread sticks to the parchment paper-lined baking sheets as done, keeping the ropes about 1 inch apart
- Bake for about 25 minutes until light golden brown and crisp
- Transfer to a rack to let cool

- Serve warm with your favorite marina dripping sauce
