minutesMumbai Pav, bombay pav is this light, soft and airy tiny portion of bread. It is very easy to make a home, pronounced as ‘Pao’ proved into small round rolls and baked until golden brown
Ingredients
2 tsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
190 ml milk
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp milk powder
1 tsp salt
20 ml oil
Directions
- To make these soft bread rolls, In a bowl, take the warm milk, sugar and add in the active dry yeast and mix well. Let this sit aside on your counter for about 5 minutes until frothy
- In another large mixing bowl, add the flour, milk powder & salt and mix well
- Add the frothy yeast mix to the large mixing bowl and combine well
- Add the oil and knead this mixture for 10 minutes
- Place the dough in a well oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap and prove for 1 ½ hours
- Punch the dough and divide into 12 equal shaped balls, shape each one and again rest for 45 minutes
- Milk wash and bake at 400F for 18-20 minutes till you see a golden brown crust
PRO TIP
- The dough will be sticky, ensure to not add any more flour while the gluten is being developed
